Carolyn Alish is a registered dietitian and nutrition science expert focused on supporting global research and education for adult nutrition. Carolyn helps identify new ingredients and formulations for products, such as Ensure, to help aging adults stay active and recover from health setbacks. Her expertise includes nutrition counseling, weight management, geriatric nutrition, muscle loss, malnutrition, cardiovascular disease, renal disease and diabetes.
Before joining Abbott in 2000, Carolyn worked in clinical, community, academic and nutrition research settings and has conducted nutrition research in geriatrics, women’s health, diabetes and adult obesity. Carolyn presents to international and domestic audiences and represents Abbott’s nutrition business at global nutrition congresses and conferences. She has publications in peer-reviewed journals and writes on a variety of nutrition topics for the industry, healthcare professionals and consumers.
Carolyn graduated from The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Allied Medical Professions in the Medical Dietetics Coordinated Undergraduate Program, her master’s from Medical Dietetics, and later her PhD in Human Nutrition.
